Participants discussed resources, lesson planning and strategies, practice demonstrations, and gathered input from community Elders.
Sam Broncho, Shoshoni Instructor at Great Basin College, shared documents which can be used to assist Community Language Instructors in the development of course curriculum and lesson planning.
The documents (in .docx format) include:
- Shoshoni Language Curriculum Plan: Planning document to map out student learning objectives and lessons for an entire course.
- Newe Daily/Weekly Lesson Plan: Daily and weekly lesson planning guide to organize learning outcomes, activities, and vocabulary to be covered in individual course lessons.
- Sign-In Sheet: Simple sign-in sheet to track attendance and participation.
To use, merely download the documents from the above links, open in Word, and add or modify any information necessary for the course being offered.
